WiDE-Xtream –
Wipro’s wireless multimedia streaming solution
“No Wires” is where networked devices
are gradually moving; more so in the digital home
segment. Products capable of streaming multimedia
content from multiple sources over a wireless
medium is what consumers are going to demand in
the not so distant future.
Wipro has uniquely positioned itself to help
organizations fulfill this customer need. This
is made possible by WiDE-Xtream, Wipro’s
wireless digital multimedia streaming solution.
This platform can drastically reduce the time
to market for consumer electronics companies &
chipset vendors wanting to incorporate wireless
multimedia streaming capability in their products.
This solution, which will be silicon proven shortly,
comprises of a wireless multimedia adapter reference
design, Software stack that is being developed
to comply with DLNASM & NMPR standards,
and a System-on-Chip platform.
Leveraging on its expertise across different
technology areas like SoC design, embedded software
development, WLAN & connectivity IPs, multimedia
expertise and its strong partnerships with various
IP vendors, Wipro has been able to develop a solution
that is expected to change the dynamics of the
digital home networking segment.
Some of the key components of WiDE-Xtream
are Wipro’s Wireless LAN IP, integrated
hardware & software blocks, multimedia codecs,
DSP, QoS for wireless video as well as content
security and copy protection standards.
