Wipros solution was the end-to-end design
and implementation of three network processing
ASIC designs with combined gate count complexity
of more than 1.8 million gates (excluding on-chip
RAMs).
The design cycle extended right from design stage,
through implementation and simulation, test logic
insertion, timing closure and support, all the
way through to tape-out. Since this was the customers
very first silicon product, Wipro played a major
role in defining the ASIC design methodology as
well.
Apart from ASICs, Wipros team of board
engineers was involved in the design of a variety
of physical interface cards for the IP switch
product, as well as "functionality testing
through board level simulation" and "ensuring
timing through signal integrity checks".
Successful boot-up was achieved within a few hours
of powering up on all boards.
