DSP based multimedia hardware reference platforms are built for a leading US semiconductor manufacturer
 
 
The customer
The customer was the DSP and mixed signal application division of a leading, US based semiconductor manufacturers.
 
The challenge
The challenge was the development of reference surround sound platforms and audio reference designs around the customer’s DSPs and mixed signal products.
 
The solution

The team successfully completed the development and testing of prototype boards meeting the performance expectations of high-end Audio products.

A wide range of board solutions were developed around Fixed point and Floating point DSPs. The category of boards included both stand alone and PCI plug-in cards using single DSP or multiple DSPs in multiprocessing modes.

The benefit
These reference boards form the basis for development work for many companies and organizations around the world working in the field of audio algorithms. One of these reference designs was successfully demonstrated by the customer at the AES Amsterdam convention in May 2001 and was received very well by the industry. And once again, Wipro’s engineering skills helped a customer realize a winning product.
