Development of low level software for next generation GSM base band chipsets

The client

One of the industry’s leading wireless semiconductor companies focused on radio frequency and complete semiconductor system solutions for mobile communications applications.

The challenge

The client required the development of boot-up code, device drivers and validation test suite for the next generation GSM base band chipsets. This included pre-silicon co-verification and post-silicon board level testing of the SOC.

The solution

Wipro’s engineers designed the test suite and the drivers for all the modules of the SOC. The test harness was designed such that the test cases executed in the co-simulation environment could be reused at the board level testing phase.

The Wipro team’s contribution was a complete low-level programming and testing of the SOC covering:

	Detailed design and coding of drivers for SOC modules
	ROM based boot code development
	Test Harness architecture
	Test Cases Generation
