The client
A leading vendor of enterprise application, infrastructure and productivity software
 
The challenge
The client wanted to demonstrate the benefit of migrating to its database platform. To do this, it needed to develop a compelling financial justification for the migration
 
The solution
Wipro gathered data on database migrations by interviewing firms that had recently migrated to the client's database platform from a competitor's for ERP environments. This data was analyzed and synthesized to develop an aggregate business case analyzing the costs and benefits of migrating to the client's database solution.
 
The results
The study found that on-going support costs for the client's platform was significantly cheaper than that of the competitors. The analysis showed a $400,000 savings for firms that migrated their ERP environments to the clients database platform, representing an internal rate of return of 60% on the cost of the migration.
