Control
system framework - OCFX
Wipro has evolved a common OCFX architecture for
developing IAC applications. The OCFX (Open Control
Framework) has been developed as a core framework
which can be used for developing various applications
like SCADA, Batch, and Process Simulation etc.
The framework is scalable and it can be used for
providing solutions ranging from fieldbus layer
to the supervisory layer.
As shown in the figure above, the OCFX architecture
consists of following components:

i-Desk
(MES) framework
Wipro's i-Desk framework is a collection of services
which are categorized as core services, infrastructure
services and functional services. These services
together or in pieces address an organization’s
self-service and collaboration initiatives. i-Desk
helps organizations to expedite the process of
building and deploying point solutions specific
to industry. i-Desk framework has already proved
beneficial to domains like HR, Government and
Manufacturing. i-Desk is used as configurable
Manufacturing Execution system (MES) for companies
looking to prepare their factories for growth
into make to order, lean or collaborative manufacturing
strategies.
i-Desk has an n-tier, service based architecture,
forming a framework of loosely coupled point solutions.
The framework is actually a collection of infrastructure
and functional services, core utilities, screens,
presentation, data access and communication API
and interfaces to various industry standards.
The framework is designed in such a way that
it can be easily configured to address the requirements
specific to industry, for which it is used.
