Wipro has indigenously developed stacks for the ATSC standard and has successfully deployed it as a standard building block to design Set-top boxes and Digital TVs for the manufacturers in the US market. The ATSC standard compliant Free-to-Air (FTA) stack is completely modular and can be easily ported across platforms, operating systems and SOCs.

The details of the ATSC reuse stack developed at Wipro are as follows:

PSIP
Foundation of a robust and portable solution
Provides APIs for accessing PSIP data

Database Builder

Monitors all the tables
Updates Flash and SDRAM database
Version change indication is sent to APP to take further action

Database

Complete database solution for ATSC-Terrestrial
APIs provided to add/delete Flash/SDRAM database
Event information can be “grid based”, provides the faster access to EPG data

Closed Caption

It supports for 608, 708 and 608 trans-coded
CC decoder is efficient manages the sequence and display order

DCCRR
Provides Directed Channel Change support according to user’s demographic, location, category selection. Channel can be tuned based on eight category selected by user
Viewer-Direct-Select-Persistence is supported
