Wipro has been in the fore-front of the Digital Broadcast revolution worldwide and has also developed expertise in the ARIB Digital Broadcast standards applicable for the Japanese market. ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Business) establishes the "ARIB STD-B24" for "Data Coding and Transmission Specification for Digital Broadcasting". This standard, primarily for Japan, specifies technical specifications related to communication, transmission and reception equipments. The ARIB standard is used to broadcast and receive scrambled TV signals and specifies standards for interaction between the Smart Card, descrambler, and demux.

Wipro has done extensive work in supporting various sections of the ARIB standard for its STB clients. The different aspects of ARIB supported by Wipro are:
Enabling the ARIB n-plane graphics engine
Support for different types of ARIB monitors
Developing a complete ARIB Multi2 CAS
Support for Japan Cable Labs (JCL) CAS
JCL certification for the ARIB based set-top box
Video seamless switching for ARIB

Today, Wipro has the capabilities of designing and developing a complete ARIB based STB / DTV for its customers. Read more
