Their need for security solution was to provide a mechanism to authorize users to access the services and resources managed by the system. Also, to ensure appropriate access control to the resources and to integrate with other services for High Availability and Logging/Auditing. Also, the functionality of delegated administration.   The challenge Security service needed to run on Linux as a web component and API library needed to be provided Integrating security service with other services (Logging service) for logging and auditing Defining failover policy and integrating Security Service with failsafe for making it highly available Define Role Based Access Control (RBAC)   The solution Authentication and Session Management using Wipro’s Authentication component Implementation of Role Based Access control for all system resources using Wipro’s Authorization component Implementation of the Delegated administration model as per customers business needs using Wipro’s Administration component. Audits and Reports - to Log and monitor all business related events & unauthorized system accesses using Logging service An API library (both C++ and Java) for authentication, authorization and administration components   The benefits Cost Benefits: the customer has multiple applications with each having a set of security requirements. With Security services implemented in Common Platform, all the applications make use of this security service which reduced the cost of respective application development. Interoperability and scalability: Security service is deployed as an web component an Tomcat application server and using the client API library the security service can be accessed from any machine and the services can be run on any operation system.
