WEB Based store control system

Project Description

The aim of this project was to design and develop a web based store control system for one of our reputed customers in Japan.

Problems faced by the customer

	Enabling access to POS data from all the stores throughout Japan, through the World Wide Web.
	Clients accessing the data could use either Windows or Linux.
	Mobile enabling data transfer and reporting facilities.
	Collection and analysis of the data and reporting facilities.

Solution provided by Wipro

Wipro proposed the architecture as shown above. The data was collected in a web server through FTP protocol and made available through the web server.

Wipro also implemented the report generation capabilities and enabled access to these features through a mobile phone. Wipro's solution allowed the customer to print the reports on a remote printer through any web enabled client.

1)	Wipro's solution used open source and hence platform independent solution.
2)	Significant cost and effort saving.
3)	Solution available for both Windows and Linux platforms
