is a developer of Wireless Location Service
software suite which allows mobile operators
to provide location-based services to their
subscribers
They had recently
acquired a leading company involved in the
development and operation of consumer applications
and technical solutions for mobile location-based
services, and thus expanded their applications
portfolio
The challenge
Provide support for a new type of PSAP (Public
Safety Answering Point) protocol without an ALI
(Automatic Location Identifier) database for their
Emergency service product W911.
The solution
Wipro
developed a software subsystem that would
interact with W911 and PSAP.
The solution
was developed using C++ in Tandem NSK environment
It encompasses
the software and map location data that is
required to route a Wireless 9-1-1 call to
the appropriate selective router or PSAP
W911 analyzes
the location information (cell/sector) provided
in the SS7 signal message when a caller dials
9-1-1 and provides a routing number or the
Emergency Service Routing Key (ESRK) to the
serving wireless switch or MSC.
