The customer’s main challenge was to stay
competitive in the DSLAM product market while
continuing to support and enhance its existing
DSLAM range of products. The existing product
had to keep up with the latest technological advancement
in xDSL technology and also comply with standards
like TR-048. And all this had to be done at reduced
development and production cost of DSLAM cards.
Now, to constantly innovate and create next generation
DSLAM products, it was imperative that their engineering
expertise be migrated to the design of the newer
products. At the same time it was necessary for
the customer to reduce the cost of maintenance
and support to its existing customers.
