Bluetooth in automotive

Our Client
A leading US automotive parts suppliers and one of the world's top automotive interior systems manufacturer.

The Challenge
To work on multiple aspects of the handsfree product of our customer in a very tight schedule with multiple tier-2 suppliers of our customer to ensure that the final delivery dates are met without compromising on quality. The involvement of various project teams in this project from different companies (of which Wipro was one of them) meant that the project timelines were extremely complicated with lot of inter-dependencies.

The Solution

Wipro's Bluetooth stack (Version 1.1 qualified) was used for this project. Wipro integrated the basic stack and the handsfree profile on a Intel-based platform on Neutrino™ (QNX) operating system and performed complete functional testing of the stack.

The following modules were done as part of the application development and integration

User interface handling for buttons and LEDs
Voice recognition application software
Development of call handling software
Integration of Wipro's Bluetooth stack and profiles with the application software
Integration testing for prototype version

The single biggest reason for the success of the project from the customer's point of the view is that two of the most important pieces of the project - the Bluetooth stack and the application development, were both done by Wipro. This helped solve all the integration issues very efficiently.
