Case Study

Development of an automotive multimedia reference platform comprising a processor and DSP is developed in record time

Our client
A leading European automotive electronics manufacturer developing cutting-edge navigation and multimedia technologies.

The challenge

The customer required the development of an Application level device driver and a Low-level I2C bus driver to control a Single-CD device for their application.

The solution

The Wipro team developed the requisite drivers under the VxWorks RTOS for an SH3 processor platform.

The application level driver simulated MOST (Media Oriented System Transfer) device behavior. This meant that a user-level application would be able to control the Single-CD as though it was a normal MOST device, even though it was not. The low-level driver controlled the I2C bus used for the physical communication to the Single-CD device.

This successful integration of discrete non-MOST CD-device into a MOST environment that comprised other telematics applications has enhanced the usability of the application as well as customer convenience.
