The challenge
The client was looking to develop the complete electric power steering by itself rather than purchasing components from other suppliers. The client was facing pricing pressures and developing the entire power steering in-house was seen as a key to improve the cost competitiveness of the product. The client had minimal experience in embedded hardware and software development and was seeking an experienced and low cost partner to assist in product development
 
The solution
Wipro undertook the entire system development. This included the design and development of complete hardware and software. Wipro did the complete design and development of the control algorithms through rigorous analysis & modeling. 8-bit micro-controller was the target hardware. In circuit emulators were used. Cross-compilers usage and associated test set up was done by Wipro. The complete system had its in-car verification and validation done.
